The rubber roller of the printing press (including the water roller and the ink roller) plays a pivotal role in the printing process, but in actual production, many printing companies will replace the original rubber roller soon after use. Due to insufficient cleaning and maintenance of the rubber rollers, most manufacturers lead to premature aging of the original rubber rollers, resulting in printing failures and cost loss.
ink roller
The ink roller refers to the rubber roller in all ink supply systems. The function of the ink roller is to quantitatively and uniformly transport the printing ink to the printing plate. The ink roller can be divided into three categories: with ink, ink transfer and plate. Ink is also called ink fountain roller, which is used to extract a certain amount of ink from the ink fountain each time, and then transfer it to the ink transfer roller (also called the ink distribution roller) .
The ink transfer roller receives these inks and distributes it evenly to form a uniform ink film, which is then passed to the plate roller, and the plate roller (also called the plate roller) is responsible for evenly distributing the incoming ink on the printing plate. superior. At this point, the task of the ink roller is completed. The uniform distribution of ink is gradually completed in the sequential transmission process of several rubber rollers. In this process, in addition to the rubber rollers, there are also the participation of hard rollers and so-called ink rollers.
In an offset press, the rubber rollers and the hard rollers are always arranged at intervals to form an alternate combination of soft and hard, which is more conducive to the transfer and uniform distribution of ink. The function of the inking roller can further strengthen the axial distribution of the ink. When it is working, it rotates while doing axial translation and stringing, so it is called the inking roller.
The ink roller is used to transfer the ink, so the rubber material must be ink-friendly. And because the adhesive layer is in contact with the ink for a long time, it must have a certain resistance to ink corrosion. At the same time, the speed of the offset printing machine is very high, and the rotation speed of the ink roller is also very high, which causes serious heating of the rubber layer, thereby accelerating the aging of the rubber material. Therefore, in order to make the rubber roller easy to use and durable, the requirements for the rubber material are also very high.
water roller
The water roller is a rubber roller in the water supply system, similar to the ink roller, its function is to evenly transport the water to the printing plate. The water roller also has water, water transfer and plate-based. At present, there are two water supply methods for the water roller, which are continuous water supply methods. The early water supply method was intermittent. The platen roller was covered with a velvet cover, and the water roller oscillated back and forth for water supply. The continuous water supply method was suitable for high-speed printing. The intermittent water supply method has been gradually replaced.
The water roller is used to transfer water, so it must be hydrophilic and resistant to water corrosion. And its hardness is usually lower than that of the ink roller, generally in HS2030. In between, this hardness is easier to water evenly and easier to adjust.
The ink rollers and water rollers of offset printing machines are traditionally made of nitrile rubber, but they have their own emphasis on the formulation of the rubber. Of course, other materials can also be used, as long as the requirements for use are met.
